Movewell Taekwondo in Royal Wootton Bassett follows and complies with all the PUMA Child Safeguarding Policies and Mandates.
Ever since its inauguration on 1st Sept 2000, the Professional Unification of Martial Arts has worked endlessly to safeguard and promote a healthy environment for its students and it original Safeguarding Policy was designed under the advisement of the NSPCC, and was copied by many other martial arts organisations.
That was nearly 20 years ago and things have moved on. Movewell Taekwondo with the backing and support of the PUMA Safeguarding Team is in the first wave of Martial Arts Clubs to sign up to a new voluntary Safeguarding standard – The Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts. As a martial arts club that has achieved the code we are able to display their badge to acknowlege the Safeguarding standards we work to at Movewell Taekwondo.
Each Movewell instructor undergoes regular Safeguarding training with the PUMA Safeguarding Team and follows the PUMA Safeguarding Standards and Mandates to follow.
P.U.M.A. has a dedicated Safeguarding Team which has been put in place to act as a point of contact for instructors, members and their families, to run professional and coherent safeguarding education for all instructors, and to promote the standards and mandates.
It also employs a Safeguarding Officer whose role is to head the team and to liaise with Police, Social Services and other associated multidisciplinary organisations.
All instructors hold current DBS disclosure documents (previously CRB checks) as well as First Aid, Indemnity Insurance and Instructing Qualifications.
P.U.M.A. has always taken its responsibility very seriously and actively helps the police and social services prosecute anyone who is seen to be a danger to its students.
If you have any queries about Child Safeguarding or you would like to ready the policy, please contact Nick Evans, Movewell Taekwondo Instructor or visit the PUMA website Safeguarding Page to contact PUMA’s Child Safeguarding Officer directly.
